Hole Sweeper

The hole sweeper is a device that is fitted to the undercarriage of a drill rig, designed to address cuttings which collect at the collar of the hole. The unit is fitted with rotating flaps which deflect and move the drill cuttings further away. Many times, cuttings can fall back down the hole causing them to be reground before exiting the hole again. This process decreases the efficiency of the penetration rate of your drill.

Benefits of the hole sweeper include:

  • Eliminates the necessity for manually cleaning the hole collars

  • Prevents cuttings from piling up around the hole

  • Increased penetration rates

  • Increased bit life

  • Increased drill steel life

  • Increased life of the deck bushing

  • Decreased deck contamination
